Two editions, two launch films — cinematic announcements carrying the emotion of the Portraits project dedicated to Sakarya's sporting memory.

Context

Akademi Sakaryaspor is a non-profit association working to preserve Sakarya's sporting memory. Through its "Portraits — Sakarya's Sports Veterans" project, it produces a photography exhibition and book made of portraits of the people who gave years to the city's sports culture.

In the association's own words, what they do is build a memory — and keep that memory from being forgotten. The need was a film to announce the launch, carrying the project's emotion.

Giving Memory a Form

This was, for us, a joyful, cinematic and emotional piece of work. We tied the approach to a single idea: giving memory a form. The veterans' story had to be told through feeling, not information.

B-roll announcement films built around selected characters were composed to carry the project's dignified, respectful tone. Light, rhythm and silence were balanced to create a sense closer to a tribute than to nostalgia.
